A Message for Parents and Teachers
Dear Parents and Teachers:
Assalamu Alaikum. I hope that you and your children are enjoying the summer. By this time of the summer, I am sure you are looking forward to the children being back in school!! At the IIT Academy, we very much look forward to welcoming our new and returning students. In this regard, I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update on staffing at the Academy.
As some of you may be aware, Br. Yousuf Siddiqui has decided to step aside as the Principal of the Academy. We would like to thank Br. Yousuf for his leadership over the years and to wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
We are pleased to welcome Br. Moussa Ouarou as our new principal. Br. Moussa is an experienced educator and a certified teacher/principal; he holds valid permanent teaching certificates from UK, Ontario and Alberta as well as the Ontario Principal ship qualifications, parts I and II. He has worked at a number of Islamic Schools in Canada and overseas. Most recently, he served as Principal of the New World Private School in Dubai, UAE. He was also the Principal at the Calgary Islamic School and the Abraar School in Ottawa. Early in his career, he worked as a teacher at the Islamic Foundation School, Toronto. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic. Please join me in welcoming Br. Moussa to the IIT Academy.
The Academy has also hired three new teachers, Sis. Shazia Ali, Sis. Nasreen Khan and Sis. Sarah Lulat. These are all Ontario certified teachers with experience at Islamic and other schools in the Toronto area. We are excited by the enthusiasm demonstrated by these Sisters during the recruitment process and we are confident that their addition will strengthen the team at the Academy. Welcome to Sisters Nasreen, Sarah and Shazia.
